MISSION & VISION

The Black/Arab Relationalities Initiative is grounded in the city of Syracuse’s layered legacies of Indigenous dispossession, anti-Black racism, segregation, urban renewal, and refugee resettlement.

We pursue this work through multiple venues and approaches, including community-based workshops focused on multimodal storytelling, partnerships and discussions that connect the SU campus to the city of Syracuse, as well as pedagogical contributions that actively contribute to the study of Arab and Black relations in national and transnational frameworks.

In doing so, BARI seeks to foster discussion and support solidarity work across and between communities based in the city of Syracuse and well beyond.
